Farnham Town are pleased to confirm the arrival of Polish goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski from Oxford City.
The 25-year-old stopper (whose surname is pronounced Brr-joi-ski) came to England at the age of 10 and joined the QPR youth academy where he spent his teenage years continuing his football development.
Marcin was named to his first senior matchday squad with the Rs on the 9th of January, 2016 where he was an unused sub as the backup goalkeeper in an FA Cup Third Round clash with Nottingham Forest. He went on to make another teamsheet appearance as an unused sub in the League Cup on the 25th of September, 2018 against Blackpool.
In August 2019, Brzozowski joined National League side Yeovil Town on a month’s loan and made his senior debut on August 26th during a 3-2 defeat at Dagenham & Redbridge. He would also start the next game, a 3-1 win over Notts County the following week before returning to QPR.
Later that season, 20-year-old Marcin was sent out on another month’s loan, this time to the National League South with Braintree Town where he would make three appearances.
During the 2020/21 campaign, he spent a three-month loan with Billericay Town in the National League South but was later released by QPR upon the expiry of his contract. Marcin joined Torquay United in July 2021, making one appearance for the Gulls in the National League.
In the summer of 2022, the 6’4″ ‘keeper signed for Hendon of the Southern League Premier South on a one-year contract. He was a regular in the side and was named their Player of the Month in December 2022. In January 2023, he transferred to league rivals Hartley Wintney where he played alongside current Town fan favourite, Harry Cooksley.
Leaving Hartley Wintney following their relegation to the Isthmian South Central, Marcin moved back up the levels and signed for National League side Oxford City following their promotion from the National League South via the playoffs. He made six league appearances for the Hoops in 2023/24 and left the Club at the end of the season. Marcin’s arrival comes after the news that Pat Nash left the Club this week, completing a move to National League side Aldershot Town.
Manager Paul Johnson said: “Marcin is a player I’ve been tracking for a few years now since he started playing regularly at Hendon and Hartley Wintney. He’s come through the pro ranks at QPR, been a youth international for Poland and is a goalkeeper with a lot of ability and potential.
“He’s got good experience under his belt at National League level and has played with some experienced players along the way. We were in the market for an experienced, quality goalkeeper this summer and when the opportunity came to speak to Marcin, he was someone we were really keen to lock down, and we’re pleased that he’s decided to join us at Farnham Town as we prepare for life at Step 4 level.”
Everyone at Farnham Town would like to welcome Marcin to the Club, and we look forward to following your progress this season!
