Farnham Town confirm the signing of Jordan Stepney from Raynes Park Vale

Farnham Town are delighted to confirm the capture of former Town defender Jordan Stepney from Raynes Park Vale. He will wear the No.4 shirt for the Town.

The 26-year-old defender returns to reinforce the defensive ranks at The Memorial Ground after being a mainstay in a successful Vale side that has established themselves in the Isthmian South Central.

He becomes our fifth new arrival of the summer, following the signings of Marcin Brzozowski, Shay Brennan, George Butler and Joel Rollinson.

Jordan will be a face familiar to many Farnham Town fans as he made 39 appearances for the Club during the 2017/18 season, scoring six goals.

During the 2021/22 season, RPV narrowly missed out on promotion to Step 4 when they finished in third place behind promoted sides Beckenham Town and Walton & Hersham, with Jordan making 24 appearances during the season, netting twice.

The following season, RPV would get over the hump as they finished the season as runaway champions of the Combined Counties Premier Division South, amassing 99 points in the process. Stepney anchored the defence, making 37 appearances during the season, scoring four goals and earning the Manager’s Player of the Season award in 2022/23.

Over the last 12 months, Stepney has continued to be an integral part of a Vale side that was very competitive in their first season at Step 4, making 28 appearances and scoring three goals as RPV finished just outside the play-off places in the Isthmian South Central.

Manager Paul Johnson said: “I’m pleased to be able to welcome Jordan to the Club today. He’s a quality player and established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Isthmian South Central last season. I got to watch him first-hand 18 months ago when we played them in the league and he was excellent that day.

“He’s a local lad who knows the Club really well, having played here before. He knows what we’re about and has seen how this Club has moved forward since he was a player here. At times last season, we found ourselves short at the back and a few have left us this summer, so bringing in a player of Jordan’s quality and experience will really stabilise that group. He’s one of the best defenders in the division and I can’t wait to welcome him to the group this season!”

Everyone at Farnham Town would like to welcome Jordan back to the Club and can’t wait to see him back out at The Memorial Ground in our colours again!
