After the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign where the Town were crowned unbeaten league champions of the Combined Counties Premier Division South, we’re pleased to share with our fans the plans for our 2024/25 pre-season.
Manager Paul Johnson and his team have worked to put together a seven-game schedule for the summer as we look to prepare for our first-ever campaign playing Step 4 football. We prepared for the start of last season with a seven-game schedule as well, and it’s safe to say the 23/24 campaign went pretty well!
You can find our proposed pre-season fixture schedule below. Please keep in mind that all fixture dates, opponents, venues and kick-off times remain subject to change, but all updates will be communicated across our social media channels and on our website.
Tuesday, July 2nd – Opponent TBC – Away
Farnham Town will open their pre-season schedule against a Step 5 opponent to be confirmed at a later date. This fixture will be an evening kick-off and will take place away from home. We’re still looking for a host for this game so if any Step 5 Clubs in the area are keen on a fixture, please reach out!
Saturday, July 6th – Opponent TBA – Home – 1 PM Kick-Off
This fixture has been agreed with a Football League club who wish to announce after the conclusion of the 2023/24 EFL season later this month. The fixture will be our first of several home pre-season games this summer, and will be the first time we welcome back fans to The Memorial Ground which we’re excited about!
Saturday, July 13th – Redhill – Away – 3 PM Kick-Off
Next up, we’ll be making the trip east and squaring off against Redhill of the Combined Counties Premier Division South. The Lobsters narrowly missed out on a playoff place in the league this past season and will be building a squad to contend for a top-five place in 24/25. Our trip to Kiln Brow last season was one of our toughest away trips of the season, coming away narrow 2-1 winners courtesy of a brace from Darryl Sanders. We have a lot of friends over at Redhill and we thank them in advance for their hospitality and look forward to renewing acquaintances with them in July.
Saturday, July 20th – Walton & Hersham – Home – 3 PM Kick-Off
The following week, we are back in action at The Memorial Ground as we welcome Walton & Hersham of the Southern League Premier South in Step 3. The Swans have enjoyed a remarkable rise up the English football pyramid in recent years, earning promotion along with Farnham to the Combined Counties Premier Division South in 2020/21, the first of three successive promotions to where they find themselves today, just missing out on a playoff place in their debut season at the level. The Town will be hoping to replicate that success in the coming years, and their visit to Mead Lane will be an excellent litmus test for the boys.
Tuesday, July 23rd – Cobham – Away – 7:45 PM Kick-Off
Another familiar opponent is next on the fixture list as we travel down to Cobham’s excellent new 4G facility. The Town played there twice in 2023/24 as Cobham also welcomed Epsom & Ewell on a ground-share last season, and Johnson’s side ran out winners on both occasions. We’d like to thank Cobham for hosting us again in the summer and we look forward to making the trip down.
Saturday, July 27th – Dorking Wanderers – Away – 3 PM Kick-Off
A trip to Meadowbank to take National League South outfit Dorking Wanderers will be our penultimate game in our pre-season schedule. Wanderers will be one of the favourites in that division this season, looking to bounce straight back from last season’s relegation at the first attempt. This will be one of the most highly-anticipated fixtures of our pre-season slate.
Tuesday, July 30th – Bracknell Town – Home – 7:45 PM Kick-Off
Our final pre-season game scheduled at this time, we welcome Bracknell Town to The Memorial Ground. The Robins have made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons in the Southern League Premier South and will be a strong opponent as they build towards going one better in 2024/25. There are a lot of ties between the two Clubs, especially among the players as the likes of Jack Dean and Darryl Sanders both played for Bracknell before moving to Farnham last summer.
