We’re delighted to announce that our U18s team has been allocated a place in the Isthmian Youth League for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
The pathway from our youth section into our first-team setup is something we’re very proud of at Farnham Town, with the likes of Owen Dean and Kai Tanner starring at The Memorial Ground in recent seasons after graduating from our U18s, and last season alone we had eight first-team debutants from our developmental ranks.
Moving into the Isthmian Youth League will see our U18s play at the highest level of Youth football the Club’s ever competed at, and we’re excited to see how this new challenge, spearheaded by Head Coach Lewis Bayly (right) and Assistant Tobias Simms (left), is met by our young players as they look to develop and push on for opportunities in Paul Johnson’s senior side.
Club Director Paul Tanner said: “I’m incredibly excited for the next stage of our U18s process. In recent years, we’ve seen quite a few talents progress through the system and be afforded opportunities in the Farnham Town first-team. Players like Owen and Kai are examples of what’s possible here.
“Last season alone, we had eight first-team debuts from within our developmental ranks, and hopefully this coming season there will be more to come. A number of our U18s prospects will be involved with the first-team during pre-season, and the chances are there for those players to stake a claim for a place in the senior squad.
“Entering the Isthmian Youth League will see our U18s compete at their highest level ever, which in itself represents a great opportunity to test themselves against some of the best youth setups in the area. Everyone at the Club is excited to see how Lewis, Tobias and the boys get on this season!”
Farnham Town U18s will be entering the Isthmian Youth Football League U18 – West Division, alongside the likes of Aldershot Town, Bracknell Town, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Uxbridge. Last week, we announced our ticket prices for the coming season, with Adult tickets priced at £5, Concessions £3 and all U16s are free to attend. Season Ticket Holders will be ensured entry to all Farnham Town home league games across our Men’s, Women’s and U18s sides. Cup fixture tickets are sold separately.
Our U18s league fixtures will be released in the coming weeks, but everyone at the Club is looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible down to The Memorial Ground on Wednesday evenings to cheer on the Young Town!
