Club Update: Clock End Development Fundraising

On June 1st, we announced the plans for our #ReclaimTheClockEnd initiative which would see the development of a new terrace at the Clock End, built into the existing grass bank which we have to barrier off at the moment to comply with Isthmian League Rules following our promotion last season.

While this development is not a necessity, it would help future-proof the Club for years to come while also illustrating our continued commitment to investing in the growth and development of the Club’s infrastructure.

The Clock End is an iconic vantage point at The Memorial Ground, and an area of the ground we know fans like to congregate around to cheer on the team every week. The scenes seen on the bank will live long in the memory of everyone connected to Farnham Town.

We invited fans to support our vision in any way they can by donating to our GoFundMe to raise funds for the construction of the new terrace with a range of perks and rewards available, supplemented by the fact that Club Director, Harry Hugo, would personally match every pound raised.

Throughout the summer, our fans have been incredibly generous in supporting us, helping raise thousands of pounds to contribute towards the project and we’d like to thank everyone who has donated so far.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that the Club has secured two private donations of £10,000 each which helps take our total raised so far to £27,000, eclipsing the original target set of £25,000, meaning the naming rights for the new terrace has been sewn up.

Firstly, we would like to thank long-term Club partner Howden Insurance who have contributed one of those donations. Howden have been supporting the Club off the pitch for many years, and this summer they continued their support by becoming the front-of-shirt partner for the new Farnham Town Women’s team. Now, they’re supporting us in our latest development project and we’re beyond appreciative of their generosity.

Additionally, we would like to express our thanks and gratitude to Catherine Powell and her family, all local residents and Farnham Town fans, for supporting the cause with her donation on behalf of her late father, Sir Alan Jones. Sir Alan was also local to the area and was often seen at The Memorial Ground cheering on the Town prior to his passing in February 2022. His legacy will live on at the Club through this donation, and we can’t thank Catherine and the rest of the family enough for their support.

As mentioned above, these two hugely impactful donations have helped take our total raised to £27,000, which when coupled with Harry Hugo’s commitment to match every pound raised brings our total fundraising effort to £54,000.

In light of this, we’re excited to confirm to our fans that the ball is now rolling on this project and we hope to deliver some equally as exciting updates on progress and timeframes in the coming weeks and months. It remains the Club’s aim to deliver on this project as soon as possible, subject to planning applications and other compliance requirements.

The new Clock End Terrace would represent the Club’s third major investment into stand infrastructure in as many years, following the development of the SoRESI Family Stand which was opened in the Spring of 2022, and the installation of the newly christened Peperami Stand which was opened in the Spring of 2023.

Despite the fact that we have hit our fundraising goal for the terrace, that’s not to say fans can’t still contribute to our efforts and receive one of our listed rewards for doing so to support other associated stadium works. The arrival of the Clock End Terrace will mean we will need to upgrade and widen the walkways around that area of the ground, reconfigure drainage, among other things.

Our GoFundMe page remains live and all donations are hugely appreciated. See below for a tier list of what different levels of support can reward you with:
