Club Director Harry Hugo becomes new Farnham Town Chairman

We’re delighted to confirm that Club Director, Harry Hugo, has assumed the role of Farnham Town Club Chairman, effective immediately.

On October 16th, 2024, during a routine Club Director’s meeting, incumbent Chairman, Ed Kelsing, announced his wishes to step down from the role to focus on his life away from the Club. Following this, the Directors voted unanimously to appoint Harry Hugo as his replacement.

A statement from Ed delivered to the wider Committee read: “In the week, we held a Director’s meeting and I decided the time was right for me to stand down as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Following this, we held a vote and all voted in favour of Harry taking up this position, which he accepted.

“If the Club wants to continue its great progress, the person at the top must be the driving force who we all get behind. Personal circumstances with work commitments as well as becoming a new Dad mean I have really struggled to give this Club the appropriate time and do what is expected of me in this role for the last year. I look forward to Harry taking this on moving forward, and I will get fully behind him and support him where I can.”

Ed will remain a Director of Farnham Town along with Paul Tanner and Dean Nelson.

Speaking for the first time as Club Chairman, Harry Hugo said: “I’d like to thank Ed for his service to the Club as Chairman, as he’s been instrumental in accelerating the growth of Farnham Town along with Paul, Dean, the wider Committee Group and our essential volunteers who are the lifeblood of the Club.

“The last two-and-a-half-years at Farnham Town have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my entire life. As Chairman, I hope that, with the support of everyone involved at the Club, we can continue to push Farnham Town forward as a Club, continue to innovate and break barriers for what’s possible in Non-League Football, and give the Town a Club they can be proud of.”
