We’re pleased to confirm that midfielder Ben Purcell has agreed to terms to remain with Farnham Town for the coming season.
Looking to bolster our squad during the middle of the season, Purcell was brought in from Bracknell Town back in November and made an immediate impact, appearing in each of the final 29 games of the campaign.
Perhaps Ben’s most memorable moment of the season was his wonderful 25-yard strike away at Kingstonian on February 19th, the second of four Farnham Town goals on the night which helped us move nine points clear of our nearest title rivals, and was deservedly voted our Goal of the Season by the fans.
His tenacious actions in the middle of the park and composure on the ball came to the fore time and time again as we romped to the Isthmian South Central title, and at just 20, Ben is an ascending player who will continue to grow and develop.
Ben follows Adam Liddle, Kai Tanner, Max Meaton, Jack Dean, Jordan Stepney, Joe Jackson, Ryan Kinnane and Harry Cooksley in agreeing to terms for the new season, while Owen Dean, Darryl Sanders, Zaki Oualah and Sam Evans all remain under contract.
