Farnham Town are pleased to announce the signing of versatile midfielder Tom Leggett from National League South side Salisbury.
The 29-year-old is vastly experienced in Non-League and has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent seasons, being named Player’s Player of the Year at Salisbury in 2023/24 as one of their standout performers during their promotion campaign via the playoffs in the Southern League Premier South – the league the Town will be playing in next season.
Over the last 12 months, Leggett made 39 appearances for the Whites in the National League South as they established themselves in the division, operating primarily in central midfield but is equally adept at stepping in across the defensive line.
Having initially came through the ranks at pro academies with Southampton and Aston Villa, Leggett’s spent time with Basingstoke Town, Gosport Borough, Farnborough and Hartley Wintney where he played alongside current Farnham Town fan favourite, Harry Cooksley.

Not only does Tom have great experience higher up the football pyramid, but he arrives as a player with success at Step 3, which will be invaluable to the squad as we look to establish ourselves at the highest level we’ve ever played at.
Manager Paul Johnson on Leggett: “Tom’s a player we’ve looked at for a long time and I’m glad we’re finally able to bring him into the Club. He’s played with a couple of the lads before earlier in his career so he should settle in fast.
“Able to play in defence and midfield is a big plus, he’s going to give us lots of options to try different shapes and styles this season. Tom was a leading player in a Salisbury team that got promoted from this division a couple of years ago and that experience is going to be valuable for us and our aims this season.”
Chairman Harry Hugo adds: “Moving up to Step 3 where we’ve never been before, it was important for us to bring in players who not only had experience of the level, but had experience of success at the level, and Tom ticks both boxes. He’ll come in right away and be a strong contributor for us – I’m pleased to get this one done early in the summer.”
Leggett becomes the first new arrival at the Memorial Ground this summer and will wear the No.6 shirt this season.
