Max Meaton commits to Farnham Town for 2025/26 season

Farnham Town are pleased to confirm that defender Max Meaton has agreed terms to stay at with the Club for the 2025/26 season.

The Club’s most beloved player, Max has been an integral part of the Club and local community for more than a decade, and extends his stay with the senior team into a 12th season, after graduating from the youth setup.

Max has seen it all during his time with Farnham Town, helping the team win the Premier Challenge Cup in 2015, earning promotion from Step 6 in 2021, the extra-time comeback to lift the Southern Combination Cup in 2023, and then scoring the goal which clinched the Combined Counties Premier Division South title and promotion from Step 5 in 2024.

This past season, Farnham Town’s first-ever at Step 4, Max was a key part of the team’s early season success, appearing in 18 of the Town’s first 24 games of the season (16 starts), with Paul Johnson’s side winning 15 of those games. Injury meant Max missed most of the winter period of the season, but he returned in March to appear in each of the final seven league games of our title-winning Isthmian South Central campaign.

As we prepare for life at Step 3 and the highest level the Club’s ever competed at, it’s important to keep players at Farnham Town who can contribute on the pitch as well as be a great ambassador for the Club and Max ticks both boxes while being an inspiration to the young players coming through, illustrating the pathway into the First Team.

Having clocked up 296 appearances for the Club thus far and is regarded as one of the Club’s most decorated players, we’re delighted to have Max with us in the Southern League Premier South this coming season.

Max joins Jack Dean, Joe Jackson, Jordan Stepney, Ryan Kinnane and Harry Cooksley in agreeing terms to remain at The Memorial Ground in 2025/26. Owen Dean, Darryl Sanders, Sam Evans and Zaki Oualah all remain under contract at the Club.
