Farnham Town confirm the signing of Andronicos Georgiou from Hashtag United

Farnham Town are delighted to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder Andronicos Georgiou from Isthmian Premier Division side Hashtag United. He will wear the No.18 shirt for the Town.

The 25-year-old came through the academy ranks at Stevenage and made his senior football debut in the EFL Trophy in October 2017 against MK Dons. Over the next three seasons, Andronicos would make 10 first-team appearances before being signed by Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of 2020.

At the start of the 2021/22 season, Georgiou moved to Haringey Borough of the Isthmian Premier Division and over the next 18 months he would score five times in 31 games for the Club before moving to Kings Langley of the Southern League Premier Central, netting six times in 14 appearances to close out the 2022/23 season.

Andronicos made the move up to the National League South the following season, making 21 appearances in the league across spells with St Albans City and Braintree in 2023/24 before finishing the campaign with Royston Town, netting five times in 14 games.

This past season, he returned to the Isthmian Premier Division with Wingate & Finchley, impressing for the Blues netting five times in 31 appearances playing alongside fellow new signing Ogo Obi, before transferring to league rivals Hashtag United where he would score twice in nine games for the Tags.

Capable of operating in an advanced midfield role or from wide areas, Andronicos offers the Town an excellent option in a number of different roles which will be important to our success next season.

Manager Paul Johnson said: “Andonicos is someone we’ve been aware of for a couple of years now. We looked closely at bringing him in when he left Wingate & Finchley but the timing wasn’t quite right – but we’re very happy to bring him into the fold now.

“He plays with a lot of flair, has a lot of technical ability and can be a match-winner in the final third. We’re going to need players who can create moments of magic to win games and Andronicos is a player with that in their locker. I’m looking forward to working together this season.”

Everyone associated with the Club would like to extend Andronicos a warm welcome to Farnham Town, and we look forward to seeing him in our colours very soon.
