Farnham Town can confirm that our Southern League Premier South league fixture at home against Weymouth, scheduled for Saturday, October 18th has been selected for live coverage through the league’s new broadcast partner, ClubberTV, and will now have a new kick-off time of 5:30PM.
This comes after it was announced earlier this month that the Southern League, along with the Northern Premier and Isthmian Leagues, have engaged in a broadcast agreement that will see more than 100 fixtures this season broadcast live on ClubberTV, including the end of season play-offs across all leagues, with participating clubs splitting a four-figure rights fee for each game that is streamed.
While we understand that the shifting in kick-off time will impact the plans of some supporters, we are looking forward to welcoming fans for what should be an exciting match under the lights at The Memorial Ground. Tickets are now available for the game on our website.
In the past, we have had had great success in re-arranging games for evening kick-offs. In November 2023, we agreed with Alton to move a scheduled Saturday league fixture to a Friday night slot which ended in a 6-1 win for Paul Johnson’s side with over 950 supporters watching under the lights – a figure which was more than double our average home attendance during the 2023/24 season, and we hope to have an equally loud and proud support this Saturday.
Following positive feedback from fans after this fixture, we’ve attempted to seek out more opportunities to do this but without participation from the opposition club, it’s not possible. Evening kick-offs have special atmospheres and this Saturday presents another opportunity to create one.
As a club, we’re always open to new ideas and testing things, and we will use this Saturday’s game as a test to see if this is something that can be done regularly, with the buy-in of our fanbase.
For any fans unable to attend the fixture, home or away, the game will be broadcast live on ClubberTV, and for those unable to tune in live, routine match highlights will be available across all of our usual channels.
