Dressing Room “Key To Success” For Matt Bunyan

Returning Striker Believes That A Good Rapport Gets The Best Results.

There were plenty of reasons why fans followed Manchester United in the eighties and nineties.

Superstar players, success on the pitch and a general air of invincibility.  Take your pick!

But for Matt Bunyan, the reason was slightly different.

“They were my best mate’s team, so I started supporting them too!”.

Since then, Matt has definitely become his own man and is eager to exploit his experience both on and off the pitch next season.

“What I’ve learned is that you need to employ a combination of playing styles.

What you want to do is try to play the ball when you can.

But sometimes you need to mix things up and go long.

Adaptability is key and, in order to address specific situations, you need a Plan A, a Plan B and a Plan C”.

Matt also believes that dressing room harmony lies at the heart of every successful side.

“What you need are good people who will buy into what you’re trying to achieve.

If you have lads with the right personality, who are reliable and committed, you’re half way there”.

On his return to Farnham Town, Matt feels he has a point to prove.

“I’ve never won a league title, so now would be a good time to do so!

More seriously, what I’ve come back to do is help the club achieve its aims on the pitch and work with this exciting crop of youngsters to make the most of their potential.

Returning to his theme of flexible decision making, Matt is happy to switch formations.

“It all depends on the opposition and how they’re playing.

Obviously you go out with your own game plan.  However, as things change during the game, you need to react, change things as necessary and do whatever is necessary to get the right result on the day”.

Whatever the way that the Town plan to line up, it’s good to have Matt back and leading the line!
