Farnham Town Football Club can today announce the appointment of Colin Millard as First Team Manager. Millard joins The Town with over 600 games worth of experience at step 5 (FTFC currently competing at step 6) with Reading Town getting up to 3rd in the season Wimbledon took the title with his most recent managerial role being at step 4. Not only have the club brought in someone with solid experience at a higher level but also a very well-qualified coach. After his most recent role at Thatcham, Millard has acted as a senior scout for professional clubs, within a number of professional academy’s and has now gained his UEFA Elite Youth A Diploma.
The club received over 30 applications for the role including from managers / coaches As high as the Conference South which is a fantastic compliment to how far we have come in recent years. When appointing Millard The Town’s main focus was to bring in someone who has experience at the levels we want to compete at, improve on coaching levels and work on our already strong promotion chasing squad. On top of this, his hunger & ambition to compete at these levels again matches that of the club’s.
Millard’s first target was to ensure Andy Sharratt continued to stay on at the club after already playing a pivotal role in recent seasons. Andy Sharratt, who speaks highly of the new appointment, will take the role of 1st team assistant manager.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all managers / coaches who took the time to apply and look forward to working with Colin when the season kicks off.
Up The Town!
