As a community club we are always looking for passionate volunteers to help us run a matchday at Farnham Town.
The club has grown a lot over the last two seasons and the demand on people managing the matchday operation has grown dramatically; but we’re also not making the most of our fantastic community attendances – both for the men and the women’s teams.
Below are some roles that we need to fill, the responsibilities they will have on a matchday and their corresponding small token thank you package as part of the arrangement.
Our attendances have grown ten-fold in the last two years and in order to make sure we have a safe and well operated matchday we need to increase the number of stewards at the ground.
The roles of a steward are:
Be at the ground a minimum of 1 hour before kick off and stay until 20 minutes after the full time whistle
Help guide people to the right areas of the ground
Keep an eye out for inconsiderate behaviour in the crowd
Ensure the safety of the attending crowd
Make sure the car parks are filled up correctly
Matchdays are Saturday & Tuesday for the men’s team and Sunday for the womens
We will provide 2x alcoholic/soft drinks tokens and 1x food token (burger van only) per matchday. Hi-vis jackets will also be provided.
With over 600 people on average at mens first team games, not doing a 50:50 raffle seems a huge missed opportunity. It is. And we want to change that. If 33% of those who attend spent £5 on raffle tickets there would be a pot of over £1,000 a game; meaning someone would walk away with £500 CASH and so would the club. 21 home games a season and that’s an extra £10,000 to deliver innovation to the club over the course of the season. That person could be you!
The roles of the 50:50 leader are:
Stand inside the main turnstiles to collect money and drum up demand of the 50:50 raffle
Put all the bought raffle tickets in a hat for a random draw
You’ll be given a float of cash and a card machine
Filter the raffle tickets to the matchday announcer who can read out the winners of the draw
We will provide 2x alcoholic/soft drinks tokens and 1x food token (burger van only) per matchday. Hi-vis jacket will also be provided.
During half-time at every men’s match we don’t have anything happening on the pitch to entertain those in attendance. We’d love to solve this by having someone in charge of half-time entertainment. This could mean organising youth teams to do a penalty shoot out, it could mean seasonal challenges or maybe something even more creative to win prizes.
The roles of a half time organiser are:
Organise what’s required for the half time entertainment & sign it off with the chairman
Work with the youth teams if required
Run the entertainment on the day on the pitch (Saturdays & Tuesdays)
We will provide 2x alcoholic/soft drinks tokens and 1x food token (burger van only) per matchday.
