The Town are just 90 minutes away from the First Round of the FA Youth Cup.
It’s the competition that has launched the career of almost every British player of note for the past fifty years, and, next Thursday evening (14.10.21), Farnham Town Under 18s will face Leatherhead for a place in the first round proper of the F.A. Youth Cup.
To get this far has been a terrific achievement by both the Town’s youngsters and their management team, and the reward for having already beaten Pagham, Colliers Wood and Whitehawk away from home, is to finally have a home tie at the Memorial Ground.
Win this match and Farnham Town will still be in the hat when the clubs from EFL Leagues One and Two enter the competition!
Unbelievably, Farnham Town only formed their Under 18s side two years ago, and this is their first season in the F.A. Youth Cup.
In addition to his players, manager Dan Goodall is quick to praise, and thank, their parents, as well as his management team:
“Obviously I am absolutely delighted with the performance of my players who have shown not just high levels of skill and teamwork, but real hunger and determination to grind out results in three tough ties against some quality sides away from home.
I’d also like to thank their parents who, so far, have had to travel to Bognor, Brighton and New Malden to support us.
And, of course, I’d like to pay tribute to my management team: George Barrett, James Batchelor, Sean James and Scott Rimmington, each of whom has made a massive contribution to our progress over the past two seasons, as well as Tara Smyth, our youth secretary, who makes sure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes”.
If you fancy seeing Farnham’s future stars take on Leatherhead next Thursday, the match kicks off at 7:45pm and entry costs just £3.00.
The Clubhouse bar is open from 7:00pm and the Full Times catering trailer will be offering its mouth-watering menu of matchday food.
