New Management Aiming To Build On A Stable Base

Some Familiar Faces Will Bring A Strong Blend Of Experience And Success.

With so much happening off the field last season, you could be forgiven for forgetting that, back on the pitch, the Farnham Town team established themselves in the top half of the table in their first season back in Step 5.

It was a terrific achievement, and one that our new management team will now look to build on.

The new five man management team will be led by the Town’s new manager, Sean Birchnall, who rejoins the club from Winchester City where, as head coach, he helped them win promotion via the play-offs to the Pitching-In Southern Premier League last season.

Town chairman Paul Tanner is delighted to welcome Sean back.

“Sean’s experience and success in Step 4 demonstrates his knowledge and ability to get the Town to where we want to be.

I’m not only certain that the players will totally buy into his tactical, coaching and man-management skills, I also believe that the Farnham Town fans will appreciate the style of play that he intends to introduce next season”.

Alongside Sean in the dugout next season will be Dan Goodall, who managed the Town’s Under 18s to the league title last season, and Dean Greenwood who brings recent experience of coaching in Step 4 from his time as Assistant Manager at Ashford Town.

And the management team will be further strengthened by fan favourite Richard Ossai as goalkeeping coach and returning striker Matt Bunyan who will be looking to pass on his experience and eye for goal on to the Town’s crop of talented youngsters.

The Town chairman is confident that the chemistry has the right ingredients for success.

“Dean knows what it takes to coach at the level we want to reach and his experience and contacts will be invaluable as the club look to progress next season, Dan has already worked wonders with our youngsters who we hope will continue their progress at first team level, while Ozzy and Matt will be a great influence both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

Obviously, we’re all aware that there is a lot of hard work involved in building a squad capable of challenging for promotion to Step 4.  It won’t be easy, but I believe that this management team are the right people, in the right positions, to build on what we achieved last season and you can be sure that the club will back them to bring the success that the fans crave.”

These are exciting times for the Town, a club looking to match the progress off the pitch with success on it.

Look out for a series of individual interviews with each member of the management team, starting this Thursday!
