Club Statement: Darryl Evans Departs Farnham Town Football Club

Farnham Town Football Club announces the departure of our U23 manager Darryl Evans, who has accepted a position as part of the managerial setup for Fleet Town’s first team.

Darryl’s contributions to our club have been invaluable. Under his stewardship, our U23 team achieved remarkable success, clinching the Suburban League Central Division title last season.

Aside from silverware, Darryl’s role was always to form a pathway for our young talents.

Under his guidance, eight players from his crop of youngsters made their first team debuts, with the most notable being 16-year-old Joe Goddard this season.

Paul Tanner, Farnham’s Director of Football, had this to say about Darryl’s departure: “We extend our gratitude to Darryl for his commitment and contribution to Farnham Town Football Club.

Darryl’s hard work, passion, and the achievements of our U23 team, including the significant number of First Team debuts from his crop of youngsters, will be remembered with thanks from club officials and fans alike.

“After a successful title-winning season last year I feel I have left the squad in a great position with a great pipeline of young players, knocking on the door of the first team,” Darryl stated. “Over the last 18 months, we have had an amazing journey. I’ve met some great players, made some great friends and being part of a club that is only on the up. I have learned so much personally and I will always be truly thankful to Farnham Town.”

“With regards to the development side I want to say a massive thank you to Fran Sherman the youth secretary, and of course, my fellow coaching staff, Brummie and Mark without you guys, I would not be able to continuously be present and most importantly enjoy the experience.”

We wish him every success as he embarks on this new chapter with Fleet Town.

Everyone at Farnham Town Football Club thanks Darryl for his exceptional service and wishes him well in his new role with Fleet Town.

We will announce Darryl’s successor when we have more information.
