Planning Permission For New 210-Capacity Stand Granted by Waverley Borough Council

Farnham Town Football Club is delighted to announce that the Waverley Borough Council has granted planning permission for the construction of a state-of-the-art covered stepped standing stand at The Memorial Ground. This significant development will enhance the overall stadium experience, accommodating an additional 210 fans on match day and boosting our stadium capacity.

The newly approved stand, clad in Claret to perfectly match our Club colours, will be situated on the west side of The Memorial Ground beyond the existing So RESI Family Stand which was completed in April 2023. This expansion opens up a previously cordoned-off area of the stadium allowing for match day attendees to now watch the games from new vantage points.

With this new addition to the ground, it’s helped develop a new ‘central hub’ to the venue in conjunction to the new pitch side toilet block and the food court area which are both situated between where our two stands are placed. The Club would like to than Waverley Borough Councillor, George Hesse, and Executive Head of Service for Planning Permission, Claire Upton-Brown, for helping move this project along and over the line.

At Farnham Town, we are committed to the continual improvement of our infrastructure, both on and off the pitch. This latest investment underscores the dedication of our directors, committee members, and volunteers to drive the Club forward and elevate the match day experience for our rapidly growing fan base.

“We are thrilled to have received planning permission for the construction of our new covered stepped standing stand. This development is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with Farnham Town Football Club. The increased capacity will not only provide a better experience for our fans but also contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of The Memorial Ground. We are excited to see this project come to fruition and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our Club,” said Ed Kelsing, Club Director.

With planning permission secured, Farnham Town Football Club is set to commence construction at the earliest opportunity. The goal is to have the new stand completed and ready for use by the beginning of March 2024. By the time this development is complete, the Club will have installed two stands in the last 12 months fit to house over 370 more fans.

The Club are looking for a partner sponsor for this new development. If interested, please contact Commercial Director Ed Kelsing at commercial@ftfconline.com to learn more about the sponsorship opportunities available throughout the Club.
